English Ivy is one of the most invasive plants in the United states. It can strangle trees, steal their nutrients, water, and even sunlight. English Ivy can even choke out native plants on the ground, and prevent epiphytic from taking root on trees. If you find yourself infected with English ivy, here's how to remove it:

Cut vines at eye level all around the trunk of an affected tree.

wait for vines to die before removing.

repeat as necessary.

This plant is the worst. It has affected so many forests in around America. This pant outcompetes native vines and devastates the biodiversity of our ecosystems. Invasive species are one of the biggest threats to our biodiversity but together we can really make a difference.
